Road Side Attractions

Driving down the road the other day I saw this immature Redtail perched in a tree next to the road.  Luckily I had my camera.  Still working on getting flying birds pictures really sharp.  Have some more work to do on that front but I do like the head peeking out from under the wing. 

More Birds

Visited my parents in Florida over the holidays.  I've long known that birding there is great but with a camera the opportunities to get some excellent shots without a super telephoto lens are readily available.  Here  area some of the ones that I like the best.

2011 has been another great year on the water.  We are blessed with a wide variety of options here and I do my best to take full advantage.  Here are some pics from 2011.

An old Ford

With little fishing on the agenda I have been out on taking some pictures for a few hours here and there.  On one of my outings I saw this old Ford in someones yard.

Chickadee's

Chickadee's are one of my favorite birds. I love their little chatter and bustle in the woods.  Given how fast they flit about they can be tricky to get a clear photo of.  I got these two today that I liked. 

 

 

B+W conversions

Been playing around with BW and actually really enjoying the affect of light on different objects.  Have a ton to learn about this but it is cool.

Bird Wonderings

Went out for a few hours in search of pictures.  Learned a bit about ISO and that I have to set it lower as anything above 800 is too grainy.  Here are my favorites from the day.
